Shawley J. Coker is a seasoned oil and gas industry leader, entrepreneur, and shareholder with more than three decades of international and domestic experience across well completion, tubular running services, and integrated oilfield operations. He is a Director and shareholder of Energia Limited, where he brings deep technical expertise, governance oversight, and strategic industry perspective to the company’s growth and long-term positioning within Nigeria’s energy sector.

Mr. Coker is the Founder and Managing Director of CISCON Nigeria Limited, Nigeria’s first indigenous Tubular Running Service and Well Completion company, which he established in 1986. Under his leadership, CISCON grew into a leading indigenous oil services provider with operations in Port Harcourt, Lagos, Warri, and Houston, Texas.

CISCON achieved several industry firsts and milestones, including executing Nigeria’s first major offshore well completion project by an indigenous company under the Shell EA Project, delivering Shell EA First Oil in December 2001, completing more than 33 offshore wells, and executing the world’s first Monobore three-zone intelligent completion. The company has delivered specialised services to major international operators such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, Addax, and Pan Ocean, and is widely regarded as a benchmark for indigenous technical capability and operational excellence.

Beyond his entrepreneurial achievements, Mr. Coker has played a foundational role in advancing Nigeria’s local content framework. He served as a founding member of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board in 2010 and was Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria from 2008 to 2012. In these roles, he contributed significantly to policy advocacy, capacity development, and the expansion of indigenous participation across the oil and gas value chain. He is also one of the founders of Energia Limited and serves on its Board.

Mr. Coker holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University, USA, and completed professional training in Completion and Workover at the University of Texas, Houston. His presence on the Board of Energia Limited reflects a career-long commitment to technical excellence, sound governance, and sustainable value creation within Nigeria’s energy industry.
